June 26 / 2008 / 9:29 PM QUESTION Have you got any explanation for what went on out there today?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: I guess it wasn't my day. She just did everything better than I did. You know, she played much better. She hit the ball harder. She, uhm, you know, served and returned better. On grass, you know those are two important elements. You know, once you don't have a lot on the ball then your opponent can take advantage of that. Obviously she had nothing to lose. She went for her shots. I was just pretty tentative.
QUESTION Is there any part of your game today you were happy with?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: I can't be really happy about anything today.

June 22 / 2008 / 6:37 PM QUESTION Are you going to watch the football game today?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: Absolutely.
QUESTION What do you think about Russia's chances?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: We'll, we're playing a pretty tough team, but I'm very excited. I'm not in a hotel room. I'm actually in a house this time. I'm going to watch it with a group of friends, my dad. I think I have a Russian hat from Fed Cup. I might wear that. I'm excited. It's going to be tough, but you never know. Turkey wasn't the favorite yesterday and they won.

May 30 / 2008 / 5:15 PM QUESTION Just talk about it. I mean, yesterday was a tough day, but today weather was a little better and you found some rhythm in the third set.
MARIA SHARAPOVA: Yeah. It's just kind of been a strange tournament so far, from the first round, playing in very difficult conditions to a long wait yesterday.
I actually didn't think I was going to go on, you know, looking at the way the matches were going on our court. And then actually playing and, you know, playing quite well yesterday.

May 28 / 2008 / 11:00 PM QUESTION It was quite hard today, so can you tell us about, I don't know, the conditions or what did give you so many problems today.
MARIA SHARAPOVA: Me, myself, and I. (laughter.) Number one problem today. I started off well, and, you know, won the first set pretty comfortably. I kind of went downhill after that.
You know, she broke me in that first game. And, you know, credit to her. She started serving a lot better and making a lot of first serves, and the wind not giving me a lot of opportunities to, you know, to attack.

May 16 / 2008 / 6:33 PM QUESTION There are so many ways to find out the form. This is one of the ways, just to start a little bit slowly and then to find out, or you have some problems with your forehand or something?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: No. I actually started good. Just in the middle of the match I had a little letdown. Actually not a little, quite big. You know, kind of a similar story to yesterday. I was just lucky to win that second set. But taking away what she was doing on her side of net, from my point of view I thought there were just a lot of physical roller coaster rides. I'd put two or three good points together and then the level sort of dropped. But it's all right. You know, good thing is I got a win and, you know, I can play another match tomorrow.
