The draw for the Rogers Cup in Montreal has been released and Maria is the #3 seed and has a bye in the 1st round.  In the 2nd round, Maria will play the winner of the Bethanie Mattek/Marta Domachowska match.  Maria has played Domachowska once before in Seoul in 2004 and won in straight sets and leads the series against Mattek 3-0.  This match will be played on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The 1st seed Maria can meet is #16 seed Nicole Vaidisova of the Czech Republic and is seed to meet #6 seed Anna Chakvetadze of Russia in the quarters.  Maria is in #2 seed Jelena Jankovic's half and top seed Ana Ivanovic and #4 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova round off the draw in the top half.

Maria has played the Rogers Cup twice before and her best result was reaching the 3rd round in 2004.

Maria,
Would have mailed this, but figured after all you have been through the past few months, you were owed a public apology also. If I would have understood exactly what was going on from the beginning, would have followed you everywhere forever and spent the rest of my time learning how to keep you happy. Please don't let shoulder bother you in upcoming tournaments.
