Wimbledon draw released

The draw for Wimbledon has been released and Maria is the #3 seed and will face #104 Stephanie Foretz of France in the 1st round on Tuesday.  Maria has never played Foretz before.

The 1st seed Maria can meet is #26 Sybille Bammer of Austria in the 3rd round and Maria is slated to meet #16 seed Victoria Azarenka of the Belarus in the 4th round.  #5 seed Elena Dementieva of Russia is seeded to meet Maria in the quarters but could #25 seed Lindsay Davenport be a possible opponent?  Last year's champion Venus Williams and #2 seed Jelena Jankovic could be opponents in the semis.  #1 seed Ana Ivanovic, 2 time champion Serena Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova round off the draw in the top half.

Wimbledon is the 3rd Grand Slam of the year and is the only Grand Slam played on grass and ends the very short grass court season.  Wimbledon is the only tournament in the world were there is a dress code, all players have to wear white.
