Maria to play Amelie Mauresmo

2004 Wimbledon champion and No.3 seed Maria Sharapova continued her impressive indoor season with a 36 61 63 win over Australian No.8 seed Alicia Molik.

Molik had been riding an 11-match win streak which included titles at Zurich, where she defeated Sharapova in a three-set final, and at Luxembourg. However, the young Russian has also been playing well, winning two titles herself since the US Open, and now winning 14 of her last 15 matches.



"I tried to serve better and get myself back into the match," she said about regrouping after losing the opening set. "I finally did that and finally did something with my serve."



Maria will play Amelie Mauresmo on Saturday 17:00ET for a spot in the final.
