Sharapova Is Dethroned at U.S. Open

In the biggest surprise of the US Open, Maria is out after she lost 4-6 6-1 2-6 to Agnieszka Radwanska in the 3rd round.

In the 1st set Maria broke Radwanska to lead 2-1 when Radwanska hit a forehand long but Radwanska got the break back when Maria double-faulted on break point.  At 3-3 it was a long game where Maria had 4 break-points but Radwanksa saved all of them and then broke Maris's serve to lead 5-3.  Maria was then able to break Radwanska but unfortunately Radwanksa broke Maria to take the set 6-4 in 46 minutes.

Radwanksa took the 1st game of the set and then Maria took the next 6 games to take the set 6-1 in 38 minutes.  Maria hit 2 beautiful drop volleys to lead 4-1 and to take the set 6-1.  You could tell Maria was very pleased with both shots on important points!

Maria took the 1st 2 games of the 3rd set but lost the next 6 to lose it 2-6.
