Maria is through to the 3rd round of the DFS Classic in Birmingham after she defeated #120 Lilia Osterloh of the United States 6-4 6-0 in 1 hour and 12 minutes.

All games were held on serve until the 7th game when Maria broke Osterloh and served for the set to take it 6-4 in 43 minutes.

The 2nd set was a lot different to the 1st as Maria broke Osterloh immediately in the 2nd set and didn't look back as she didn't drop 1 game as she took the set 6-0.

In the 3rd round to be played on Thursday, Maria will play #55 Tamira Paszek of Austria, Maria has never played Paszek before.
