Maria is out of Roland Garros after she lost to #7 seed Ana Ivanovic of Serbia. Maria lost 6-2 6-1 in 1 hour and 5 minutes in the semis.

Even though Maria lost today, she has had her best ever result here on clay in reaching the semis.  Now Maria's favorite time of the year is upon us, the grass season!

Ivanovic broke Maria twice in the 1st set to lead 5-2 and then again to take the set 6-2 on a double-fault from Maria.

Maria will remain #2 in the rankings when they are released no matter what happens in the rest of the tournament.

Well done Maria well done. its not unhappy time. You reached the sami final of roland garros frist time which is not your favorit surface. my way this is a great Performance. I realy happy becus your perfect return on court. I watch your matches on T V. In semis miss your autograph and famous kiss. this is only sad thing."best wishes" you are champion of our heart.
