Defending ladies' champion Maria Sharapova has eased into the quarter-finals with a straight sets win over Nathalie Dechy of France 6-4 6-2.
Both Sharapova and Dechy reached the semifinals at the Australian Open earlier this year.
The second-seeded Sharapova, who has won 21 straight matches on grass, had lost only 11 games in her first three matches at the All England Club.
In the next round Maria will either play fellow Russian Nadia Petrova or Kveta Peschke of Czech. Petrova leads Peschke 6-7(5) 7-6(7) 4-2 .
